After 49 years in Oliver, BC, Baldy Mountain Resort found itself in receivership. The new owners wanted a refreshed brand identity, new website, and all manner of promotional materials. The catch was that we had a week to get it all done, in amongst other projects.
A great logo can take months to get right but inspiration struck without a minute to spare. The style of typeface, with hand-drawn elements, harkens back to the 50s aesthetic. The Y traces the actual slope of Baldy Mountain. Despite the cursive font, the clean lines and lack of superfluous flourishes keep the logo gender neutral. We aimed for something clean, classic and wearable on a sweatshirt or t-shirt.
